His Image

Several years ago, while at Sunday meeting, I asked the Lord why it is that I was always so easily distracted from hearing the preacher. I at the first, leaned on my own understanding, looking at temporal things. Then at last, by His mercy, and for His name, He cleansed me from all transgression. And being transformed, by the renewing of my mind, and being conformed to His image from faith for faith, being taught of the LORD, as the truth is in Christ Jesus, I was able to seek those things which are above and not beneath, to keep my trust in Him and to see even as He sees, to think on things as He shows them to me and tells me of them by His Holy Spirit, which He sent for this same self purpose, that I might be conformed to Him. He has given me the mind of Christ. He is the rewarder of the righteous. He is the reward.

Beth Wightman
1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. Colossians 3 KJV; 1 Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; 2 A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man. 6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. 10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.

12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. Hebrews 8 KJV
